College

I began college in 2008, so this year I'll be a sophomore. I used to hate school, but I have to say, I love it this time around. I am going to be a marine biologist when I finish my BA, which I will begin 2010. Right now I am getting my AA degree with a biology emphasis. I want to work for National Geographic and travel the world. I live in Washington state for now, but my girlfriend and I met in the Navy (Great Lakes, IL) in 2001 and have since lived in Wyoming, Florida (our buddy met a girl on the Internet, so we went with him and fell in love with Florida), Alabama, Delaware, and now back to Washington, which is where I started from. I just started my own web page, it's not actually up and running yet, I am working on that, but it is: http://www.allaboutsharks.info so in about one month from today ( July 17Th 2009) check it out! :) I am going to try to make it a one stop spot for all shark related information. So, I just joined this, and I read some really creative blogs; I don't know that I will be that creative, but I may try. :) So, here are some facts about me:
I am 29. I didn't realize that I went from 21 to 29 so quickly, and now I look in the mirror and I see that I am almost 30. It's a little jarring.
I am a lesbian. I don't think of it as a big deal, because almost everyone I know is bi or gay, but I understand that it is not like that for everyone so I hope it doesn't put people off. We are totally normal and hope that someday gay marriage will no longer be an issue, but a fact of life. Why shouldn't America offer fairness and equality to all of it's residence. It is legal in Canada for crying out loud! :)
I know all of the states in alphabetical order and all of the presidents.
I voted for Barak Obama.
I voted for Al Gore, even though it didn't really matter whether I voted or not.
I love the idea of organic vegetable gardening, but I cannot seem to get myself motivated to actually do it.
I have a female cat named Stewart. (we thought she was a boy; when we found out she was a girl it was too late to change her name)
I have a really awesome job at the college I go to school at. I love my job, but I can't wait until I am an actual marine biologist!
I am a little obsessed with sharks.

That's it for now because it's almost midnight.
